Wellesley Booksmith's Unfortunate Event with Lemony Snicket October 16, 2006

For seven years now, the world of children's literature has been plagued by book after horrifying book in The Series of Unfortunate Events. Lucky for all of us, this parade of peril is coming to an end this October, with the publication of the 13th and final book in the series - The End. To celebrate our liberation from this onslaught of gore, on Monday, October 16, Wellesley Booksmith and The Morse Institute Library will have the misfortune of hosting Lemony Snicket, author of The Series of Unfortunate Events. We can only hope they will provide us with some explanation as to why they have subjected the formerly sunny world of children's literature to these horrible books. You're more than welcome to join the crowd of naysayers who will gather to boo and sneer at them in disgust.
