Wei He, Violinist October 8, 2012

Born in China, Wei He was chosen at age 16 by the Chinese government as one of ten gifted young musicians to perform in Japan and its various music festivals. He moved to the United States for his undergraduate study at the University of Texas at Austin, where he won the concerto competition. He formed the New China Trio, which went on to win first prize at the Yellow Springs Chamber Music Competition in Ohio, and the Schaad Award of the Carmel Chamber Music Competition in California.
