What is the Web2Open?

The Web2Open is a part of the Web 2.0 Expo, open to anyone who would like to attend. The Web 2.0 Expo wiki is here. We do ask that you have a badge, but you may register for a free Expo Only badge using the the code on the sign up page (right after you sign up!).

The Web 2.Open was conceived with FooCamp/BarCamp in mind. This open event blends some pre-scheduled content with an open grid where the attendees fill in the sessions they either want to discuss or present themselves. It is the perfect space to provide the community at large with a place to connect with other attendees, learn more about elements of Web 2.0, and share one’s knowledge and experiences.
What is the format?

The Web 2.Open will consist of three major elements:

**Open Grid Sessions, where an attendee can propose a topic for a talk he or she would like to give, and simply show up and deliver the talk (or lead a discussion on a subject). Open Sessions are scheduled onsite. These run 1 pm to 7 pm Tuesday, April 17 and Wednesday, April 18. (3 rooms, 2 days = 36 sessions) (50 mins each)

**Pre-Scheduled Speaker Sessions, also given by attendees but pre-scheduled in advance (please submit your entry speaker sessions here). These run 1 pm to 7 pm Tuesday and Wednesday. (2 rooms, 2 days = 24 sessions) (50 mins each)

**Mashroom a room designated for some serious api mashups and to getting down and building stuff. This will be open throughout the event. More details here. (unlimited projects)
