By participating in the 10th Annual Accessibility Internet Rally for Austin (AIR-Austin) you will learn techniques to make websites accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities or those using palm devices and mobile phones. You will network with other web professionals, get to show off your skills, and possibly even win an award. All while helping a nonprofit in need!

AIR-Austin is an award winning program developed by the nonprofit organization, Knowbility, whose mission it is to support the independence of children and adults with disabilities by promoting the use and improving the availability of accessible information technology - barrier free IT! Please learn more about Knowbility at, http://www.knowbility.org.

You will be challenged to learn about accessibility through a series of training and networking activities. Your team is then matched to a nonprofit agency in need of web development assistance. After a 10-day planning period, the teams and their nonprofit "clients" will assemble on October 13th for a high-energy work day in which the new accessible web sites are finalized. An expert panel of judges reviews the resulting entries and determines winners, who are recognized at a high-profile awards party.

Your small $100 team fee offers you:
• Training on tools, techniques, and standards to make online information available to everyone and meet emerging government mandates.
• Winners of the AIR-Austin event receive public recognition and a trophy at a high profile awards ceremony.
• The opportunity to help a nonprofit in need.

The registration deadline is September 15, 2007. Find more information, register, or contact us today at, http://www.knowbility.org/air-austin
