Web Designer Program — March 7 – May 25 (limited seating to 10)

We offer a 24-evening program targeted to visually oriented people who wish to become proficient in the tools and techniques for designing and maintaining web sites. The class meets twice a week from 6-9pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students learn how to use Fireworks, Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS and Flash. We also cover related topics such as search engineer optimization, dynamic web pages, free software tools, how to get contracting clients, and useful online services.

HTML — This formatting language is the foundation for the Web.

FIREWORKS — Macromedia Fireworks allows you to create and manipulate web images.

DREAMWEAVER — We’ll use Dreamweaver to create a multi-page web site with images, links, tables, roll-over menus, drop-down menus, and many other features.

CASCADING STYLE SHEETS — We will show you the basics of CSS and several impressive effects you can implement with CSS.

FLASH — In this section you will learn to create complex animations and graphical effects without having to know Dynamic HTML.

Miscellaneous Useful Stuff — We’ll show you how to improve your web site ranking on Google and other search engines and address paid online advertising. Finally, you should know a minimum of web programming and show you how to have a web page send email in three different programming languages: ColdFusion, ASP and PHP.
