Everyone loves the sound of Christmas music! The 45 voice Oakland Bay Area Community Chorus presents it annual Christmas concert "WE HAVE SEEN HIS START" on Sunday, December 16th at 4 PM. The chorus specializes in singing both CHRISTMAS SPIRITUALS, sung acapella and jubilant CHRISTMAS GOSPEL selections. The concert features a special candle light performance of the lovely Christmas hymn, "Beautiful Savior". Also included in the concert this year will be a wide variety of traditional and contemporary Christmas favorites that everyone loves to hear during the Christmas season.

William (Bill) Bell a multifaceted musican extraordinare is fondly known by many in the Bay Area as the "Jazz Professor" for his artistry as a jazz pianist and as a college professor. Perhaps, you will be surprised to learn that he also has a great love for choral music. It is from this passion that he founded and serves as artistic director of the Oakland Bay Area Community Chorus (OBACC).

The mission of OBACC is to preserve the African American spiritual by performing this seldom heard, but historically important music during Christmas and spring concerts. Each year, Bell takes great joy in presenting a stirring Christmas concert that continues to garner acclaim from an enthusiastic audience each year. Choral singers from through out the Bay Area participate in OBACC and are featured soloists.
