WBA Exposure League Seeking B-Ball Stars for 2009 Pro Tryout Camp

The WBA Exposure League Professional Tryout Camp will be held on April 17th and 18th, 2009 at Agnes Scott College, 141 E. College Ave; Decatur, GA 30030. This camp will give talented athletes an opportunity to be exposed to all teams in the WBA. The top players will be signed to the league. Signed WBA players will report to their respective team’s training camp after the Tryout Camp; joining vets and protected players for preparation for opening game night. The teams participating in the 2009 WBA Exposure League season from May-July are: Buford, GA; Decatur, GA; Cartersville, GA; Rome, GA; Memphis, TN; Tupelo, MS; and Palm Coast, FL.

The mission of the WBA Exposure League is to teach, develop, and expose basketball players to NBA, D-League, CBA, and International Scouts, while providing each community with an exciting brand of basketball and entertainment. The WBA serves as a training ground to develop players and coaches on and off the court. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, community involvement, and most importantly exposure. Over 400 WBA Players have gone on to play professionally overseas, in the CBA, D-League, and the NBA.

WBA teams are comprised of talented athletes with a maximum of five years professional experience. WBA exposure teams have produced and worked with top coaches, such as former Rome Gladiator’s coach Harold Ellis, who recently signed to the NBA’s Detroit Pistons coaching staff and standout players who made it to the next level, including Kenyon Gamble, who played with the WBA’s the former Magic City Court Kings and now plays with the Manchester Millrats of the PBL. Other star athletes include Josh Powell who signed to the L.A. Clippers; former Hawks Anthony Grundy, and Kyle Davis of the New Jersey Nets.

In the last 5 years, over 200 players from the WBA Free Agent Tryout Camps have been drafted by teams in the league such as Miami Heat Forward, Jamario Moon, who played with the WBA’s Rome Gladiators. Learn more about Moon; http://www.nba.com/playerfile/jamario_moon.
