Join Latin Jazz Trombonist of the year*, Wayne Wallace and his Latin Jazz Quintet for a worldwide musical journey! With three albums (including a recent Grammy nominated release Bien Bien) the ensemble covers the gamut of Latin music, from Latin jazz to cha-cha-cha, cu-bop, samba, bolero, and bomba. Performing original compositions and Jazz/Latin standards from composers such as Duke Ellington, Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Tito Puente and more, the quintet is not to be missed.

This concert is made possible with funding from the Zellerbach Family Foundation.

“Their repertoire is flawlessly funky and erudite, based on excellent rhythm and blues and Afro-Cuban elements. They are all extraordinary jazz players, starting with Wallace himself.” Jeff Dayton-Johnson, All About Jazz
