WAVES OF WISDOM is a 2-day continuing education seminar designed to update and reinforce the knowledge and skills of critical-care and acute care nurses on a variety of clinical, psychosocial and professional development topics. This biennial conference is a collaborative endeavor of nine Central Florida AACN Chapters integrating shared resources to provide educational programming of exceptional quality. National and local leaders in critical care and healthcare will share their expertise on a wide range of topics pertinent to modern practice.

Who should attend? Critical-care, Acute care, and Emergency Care nurses, as well as nurses in leadership and /or educator roles within critical-care or acute care environments. Participants may attend and receive contact hours for one or both days.

Program Objectives:

1. Discuss clinical, professional, leadership, and ethical issues pertinent to current critical-care nursing practice.
2. Promote AACNs vision of a healthcare system driven by the needs of patients and families where critical-care nurses make their optimal contributions in the workplace.
3. Apply and further investigate principles of leadership, advocacy, and innovation within critical-care nursing practice.

The conference room rate at the Royal Plaza is $134.00. Early checkout will incur a checkout fee. Check- in is after 4:00 pm, checkout is before 11:00 am. Late checkout is available, verify at check-in. Rates are available three days pre and post the conference.

In order to receive a membership discount, please include your current AACN membership number and expiration date on registration form. Registration fee includes continental breakfasts, lunch, refreshment breaks, syllabus and certificates of attendance. This program is approved 12.5 contact hours by the Florida State Board of Nursing, Provider FBN 2317. Application for Trauma Contact hours has been submitted.
All payments made by check must be postmarked no later than July 13, 2009.
