While color theory is one of the most essential concepts needed to create a successful artwork, it can also be the most confusing and frustrating because it is based on left-brain knowledge such as mathematics and physics. Kim's objective when teaching color theory is to get the left-brain's work done and over with so the right brain can come out and play. Watercolor's innate desire is to be vibrant and light-filled and yet it can so quickly turn to mud if the artist does not understand color theory.

In this workshop, students will gain an understanding of color scheme, value and temperature and how these relate to glazing and color mixing.

This class will benefit all levels of skill from beginner to advanced. It is advised that participants have a basic understanding of the color wheel and elementary watercolor techniques, such as wet-in-wet.
