San Francisco, California 94109

Opening reception July 2, 6-9pm, exhibition runs from July 1st - July 29th

Gallery 1044 is pleased to present "Water Chronicles", a solo exhibition of painted on photographs from San Francisco artist Leslie Morgan. On view July 1st - July 29th.

Leslie's new series "Water Chronicles" makes its exhibition debut at Gallery 1044. 'Water Chronicles' captures our timeless connection with water through nostalgic images and assemblage frames from reclaimed materials. Starting with enlarged vintage Black and White photographs, Leslie then paints layers of color washes to add emotion and life.

Leslie has always been making art focused on water. From her early days growing up in a Texas desert, jumping and splashing in local swimming pools, to her days living on a boat in the Florida Keys, Leslie has always been in and around water. She is currently an open water and synchronized swimmer with the San Francisco Tsunami, and draws much of her inspiration and imagery from her upside-down, underwater vantage-point.

Leslie was born in Midland, Texas and has a PhD from California School of Professional Psychology. She has exhibited all over the Bay Area: Arc Gallery, City Arts, SomaArts, Studio Gallery and Gallery 28 and solo shows at the Claremont Hotel, EHS gallery, Hanna Winery and the Four Seasons Press Club.
