The Owls finished the regular season with four consecutive wins, including big road wins at UTEP and Tulane to become bowl eligible with a 6-6 record on the season, 4-4 in Conference USA play. The Owls average over 31 points per game with a balanced attack.

Quarterback Taylor McHargue threw for nearly 2200 yards with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. Five of those touchdown tosses went to receiver Sam McGuffie. The Owls also ran the ball for over 2400 yards with McHargue and running back Charles Ross carrying the load in the spread-option attack.

Air Force scored over 28 points per game this season while relying on their ground game to do most of the damage. The Falcons rushed for nearly 4000 yards with running back Cody Getz accounting for more than 1200 of those yards along with nine touchdowns.
