Washtenaw Community Concert Band: "Around the World in 70 Musical Minutes" May 19, 2013

"Around the World in 70 Musical Minutes": The 60 piece band begins its outdoor summer season with a reprise of favorites from countries and lands around the world. The concert will be highlighted by the Carmen Fantasy based on the music from Georges Bizet's famous opera and featuring flutist Beth Wondolowski, a member of the band and music teacher in the Whitmore Lake School District. Other selections will include music for wind band by Gustav Holst, themes of suspense by John Williams, as well as music by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. The band is conducted by Dr. Chris Heidenreich, Director of Bands at UofM-Flint. The concert is sponsored by Jerry Robbins and is presented by First Downtown Music & Art Series.
