Warriors and Queens: Radical Stagings of Gender and Sexuality in Dance will present critically-acclaimed dance artists from Chicago-- Breakbone DanceCo and Matthew Hollis--in an evening of cutting-edge dance performance that fearlessly tangles with traditional gender and sex roles.

Combining a ferocious athleticism with high-impact video and sound, and a punk rock aesthetic, the all-female Breakbone DanceCo redefines the parameters of dance. With a sly wit and outrageous persona, Matthew Hollis's solos seamlessly combine dance, theater, and physical comedy to effortlessly, and hilariously, chronicle his experiences as a gay man.

The show will be followed by a discussion moderated by Dr. Rebecca Rossen (dance studies) and Dr. Ann Cvetkovich (gender studies). The event is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come-first-served basis.
