War Paint is a jammy, psychedelic dreamy riffage indie all-girl quartet from Los Angeles. The group has gone through many line-up changes, including actress Shannyn Sossamon and Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. The group currently consists of Jenny Lee Lindberg (vocals / bass), Emily Kokal (vocals / guitar), Theresa Wayman (vocals / guitar) and Stella Mozgawa (drums). The band weaves intricate guitar lines, hypnotic vocals, and driving post-punk rhythms into gorgeous, sprawling songs that skirt the line between the soundscapes of psychedelia and intimacy. With a buzz already in the air, War Paint is now beginning to stir the masses with praise in the US and abroad. Dazed and Confused calls "Exquisite Corpse", their 2009 self-released debut EP "a collection of magical psychedelia drifting over sublime moments of raw melody courtesy of the three free ethereal vocalists." Onstage, War Paint's disarmingly authentic package can shake a room into a dance frenzy, while simultaneously holding it in a trance-like dreamworld.
