The event aims to raise funds for the National Psoriasis Foundation’s research, education and advocacy programs.

Nationwide, as many as 7.5 million people are affected by the disease. Psoriasis, a noncontagious, chronic disease of the immune system, appears on the skin causing red, scaly patches. These patches, often painful and itchy, can appear on any part of the body. Additionally, up to 30 percent of people with psoriasis develop psoriatic arthritis. People with psoriasis are at risk of developing other serious conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and depression.

WHEN: Sunday, March 7, 2010
Registration begins at 7 a.m., walk begins at 8 a.m.

WHERE: Aventura Mall
19501 Biscayne Blvd.
Aventura, Fla.

COST: $25 for adults; $15 for youth. All participants will receive a T-shirt.

Choose between 1K and 5K routes on this walk to raise awareness and funds to combat psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. All ages welcome. All participants receive goody bag.
