W San Francisco Executive Chef Paul Piscopo’s side-by-side culinary collaboration with San Francisco food truck chefs continues with The Taco Guys, as the three chefs host the “Local Motion” dinner event at TRACE restaurant on Friday, November 16. Following the resounding success of Piscopo’s recent collaborative dinner event with Hapa SF’s William Pilz, Piscopo welcomes chefs Jason Hoffman and Justin Close into his kitchen for the evening to collaborate on a seasonally inspired four-course dinner that expresses the chefs’ unique culinary passions and perspectives in a lively and engaging dinner party setting.

At 6 p.m., the evening begins with a welcome reception outdoors on Hunt Lane, where The Taco Guys food truck will be parked, as guests nosh on small bites crafted by the chefs – including Kabocha Squash Soup with Pear Relish and Gulf Shrimp Taco with Curry and Chiles – while sipping on specialty beverages. At 6:30 p.m., guests take their seats in TRACE to enjoy, for the first time, a family-style menu developed by the chefs and optional beverage pairings created by W San Francisco mixologists. The menu features: Dungeness Crab Custard, Roasted Crab Leg, Arancini, Persimmon; Salt Baked Bolinas Rockfish, Caramelized Cauliflower, Roasted Garlic and Almond Grape Mostarda; Veal Tongue, Crispy Seared, Slow Braised with Moroccan Spice, Crisp Potato; and Pumpkin and Black Sesame Ice Cream.

Piscopo, who served as Executive Chef of W San Francisco’s previous concept restaurant, XYZ, and launched TRACE in September 2011, began his professional career at Aqua in San Francisco, after which time he worked in the kitchens at Oliveto in Oakland and Charles Nob Hill, with renowned chef Ron Siegel. At TRACE, Piscopo and his team are committed to creating an enriching and thoughtful culinary experience by combining the vibrant, local personality of the Bay Area with a dedication to socially responsible food. The Taco Guys are Jason Hoffman and Justin Close − two chefs who, over the past two decades, have created menus and prepared meals in some of the most celebrated restaurants in the Bay Area. After enjoying successful careers in a number of fine restaurants, Hoffman and Close decided to strike out on their own and take their passion for food to the streets. Using local and organic ingredients from sustainable sources, they offer gourmet food and drink from their kitchen on wheels. No white linens or reservations − just the best tacos you’ve ever tasted.

Tickets to the event are $50 per person, and seating is limited. Reservations are available by phone at (415) 817-7836 or online at www.OpenTable.com/TRACE. TRACE is located in W San Francisco at 181 Third Street in San Francisco. For more information, please visit www.TRACE-sf.com or call (415) 817-7836.
