Taking place on Sunday 22nd February, father and son club members, Robert & Steven Lowe, will be joined by Crew Chief Taff Stone, on a journey to visit all 15 remaining full Vulcan airframes within the U.K.Starting in East Fortune near Edinburgh with XM597, the route will take in aircraft at Sunderland, Carlisle, Woodford, Cosford, Wellesbourne, Coventry, Bruntingthorpe, East Midlands Airport, Newark, RAF Waddington, Norwich, Duxford, Hendon and Southend. See: http://tinyurl.com/Vulcan-Scramble for full details and times.

The projected route will cover over 880 miles, with an estimated travel time of 19 hours + stopovers.

Club members at each location will help explain the event and our plight to visitors throughout the day. They will be specifically asking people who are willing to sign pledges to help save the aircraft.

These will then be entered onto the central database with a running total displayed by way of a “graphic totaliser” on the website.

More details will be available on a dedicated Scramble webpage http://www.vulcantothesky.org/scramble/
Anyone wishing to donate or pledge can do so online (http://www.vulcantothesky.org/Pledge.asp)or by calling: 0116 247 8145.

XH558 is the only airworthy Vulcan in the world, restored to flight after nearly 15 years at a cost of £7million.

She now faces grounding forever, unless an additional £500,000 can be raised before 6th March enabling funds for another full air show season. Last year, she appeared in front of over 1.5 million people.

She inspires immense pride in all who see her. A full education programme is built around her, not only telling the story of the cold war era, but the value of science and technology in inspiring future engineers.

She was the “mother of concorde” - Can you help save this ICONIC BRITISH AIRCRAFT?
