July at the Eiteljorg Museum brings visit from American Girl®, free family fun



( Indianapolis ) – The nationally-renowned American Girl® doll collection will come to life for Indianapolis children Saturday, July 28, as Eiteljorg Museum presents “Welcome Josefina,” a celebration of the Spanish character and doll. “This event provides a great opportunity to bring the entire family out for an enjoyable and creative learning experience,” says Martha Hill , vice president of public programs and visitor services.



Children are encouraged to visit the museum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a day of storytelling, games and activities inspired by Josefina. Hourly studio sessions will be facilitated by an Eiteljorg staff member or volunteer. Activities, designed for boys and girls age 5 and up with adult supervision, include leather stamping at 11 a.m., the traditional Mexican game of Loteria at 12 and 2 p.m., hair comb and mantilla making at 1 p.m. and a “Josefina through your eyes” interactive storytelling circle at 2 p.m. All sessions are free with museum admission except a $3 supply fee for the1 p.m. session. Children are not required to bring a doll. In fact, visitors can enter a raffle to win a Josefina doll during the event. For information and reservations, call (812)275-1350.
