Viva la Musica! Choir and Orchestra, under the direction of Shulamit Hoffmann, will present Beethoven's Mass in C Saturday, May 15, and Sunday, May 16, at Carrington Hall at Sequoia High School in Redwood City.

The program will open with an orchestral interpretation of Beethoven's Prometheus Overture and also will feature chorus and orchestra in Ottorino Respighi's Ancient Airs and Dances. Soloists will include Deirdre Lobo-D'Cunha, soprano; Elspeth Franks, contralto; Corey Head, tenor; and Jordan Eldredge, bass.

The second half of the program will offer contemporary love songs and a medley from the classic Broadway musical, West Side Story, featuring Leonard Bernstein's sophisticated music.

Saturday's program will begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday's at 4 p.m. Hoffmann will offer a pre-concert talk both days 30 minutes before the performance begins. Carrington Hall is located at 1201 Brewster Ave. at Broadway, Redwood City.
