In conjunction with the monthly "Downtown Artwalk" event, LA Artcore presents another free poetry session, featuring poets Amelie Frank and Brendan Constantine as they recite their work to the public. Richard Modiano of Beyond Baroque and editor of Poetix, will introduce the two poets. This event will take place during the K. A. Colorado solo-exhibition titled "Polar Dialogue 2009" that is presently on display.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Amelie Frank received her degree in English with a Creative Writing Emphasis from U.C. Irvine. She founded The Sacred Beverage Press with poet Matthew Niblock and produced the acclaimed and respected literary journal Blue Satellite. The author of five poetry collections, she has featured at most of the key venues in Southern California, including the Newer Poets Series, the Los Angeles County Museum, and MOMA. She has served as a Co-director of the Valley Contemporary Poets, is a Trustee on the Board of Trustees of Beyond Baroque.

Brendan Constantine is an ardent supporter of Southern California’s poetry communities and one of its most recognized poets. His work has appeared in numerous journals, most notably Ploughshares, The Los Angeles Review, The Cortland Review, RUNES, and LA Times Bestseller The Underground Guide to Los Angeles. New work can be found in the Spring editions of Ninth Letter and The Boxcar Poetry Review, as well as the anthology Bright Wings, forthcoming from Columbia University Press and edited by Billy Collins. His collection, Letters To Guns, was released in February 2009 from Red Hen Press. He holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts and lives in Hollywood at Bela Lugosi’s last address.
