VISION & VOICES V: David Smith & Andrea Scarpino February 11, 2010

In conjunction with the monthly "Downtown Artwalk" and with the ongoing exhibition by artist Peter Zaleski and Curtis Wright, LA Artcore will present "Vision & Voices V", the fifth in a series of evening poetry events featuring authors Andrea Scarpino and David Smith.

David Smith, through his Ouija Madness Magazine and Press, published works by Bukowski, Richard Meltzer, Dennis Cooper, Amy Gerstler, Tom Clark, Scott Wannberg, Bob Flanagan, Wanda Coleman, and Harry Northup. Smith’s poetry books include Closer to Jesus and, in collaboration with Scott Wannberg, Rockets Red Glare, and in collaboration with S.A. Griffin, Genocide Sutra, a Love Story. His new book is White Time (Off Beat Pulp).
 
Andrea Scarpino is author of the chapbook The Grove Behind (Finishing Line). She has worked for anti-war movements, feminist campaigns and environmental organizations and is West Coast correspondent for the blog Planet of the Blind.
