The 2010 Virtuoso Showcase will bring four world-class guitarists to Nashville Public Library. Now in its eighth year, has a loyal following of classical guitar students and music lovers in general. The 2010 spring concert series opens with Lukasz Kuropaczewski, born in 1981 in Gniezno, Poland, has toured extensively throughout Europe, the United States, Canada, South America, and Japan. Most notably, he has performed solo recitals in London’s Royal Festival Hall, The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, National Philharmony Hall and National Radio Hall in Warsaw, and Carnegie Hall in New York.

After beginning his guitar studies at the age of ten, Mr. Kuropaczewski studied with the distinguished Polish professor Piotr Zaleski from 1994 to 2003, and upon receiving a Masters Degree from the Academy of Music in Wroclaw, Poland, he entered the Peabody Institute where he studied, on a full scholarship, under Maestro Manuel Barrueco.

As a chamber musician, Kuropaczewski has collaborated with musicians from the Cleveland Orchestra, the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra, and the San Antonio Symphony, as well as with musicians from his native Poland, performing repertoire from Vivaldi to Boccherini.

With five recordings to his credit, all have received critical acclaim around the world.

Kuropaczewski is on the faculty at the Academy of Music in Poznan, Poland, and a guitar instructor at the Pennsylvania University in Philadelphia, PA.
