This two day course is a must for those eager to explore the rise of the online advert the viral and fully understand the creative, technological and strategic opportunities of the future. Aimed at professionals working in the media or creative industries this course demystifies the online brand, key technological applications, video/viral production approaches, special effects and appropriate innovative and effective viral communication campaigns.The course will provide a thorough understanding of both offline and online advertising and how and where the viral is positioned in this mix. The workshop will look at methods and approaches for reaching the desired audience, and how an online community is developed and maintained. Key innovative technologies such as Web 2.0, MySpace and Facebook will be discussed in this context. Several key online, integrated campaigns and viral positioning will be explored in detail from concept to production and post-production. Particular emphasis will be placed on creative approach, strategy and effective technological application. To be included in the final workshop day will be a bespoke online development session where participants will be encouraged to create either a hypothetical or applied advertising campaign using innovative techniques and relevant viral elements for effective marketing. This could be applied to individuals own businesses or objectives of a current employer. The course will require participants to have some knowledge of traditional or online advertising, media production or experience of using one or two social networking sites.
