San Francisco, California 94102

David Jacobson has performed as soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, and many other orchestras throughout the United States and appeared in recital in the major capitals of Europe.
Born in San Francisco, his first and most influential teacher was Jacob Krachmalnick, pupil of the great violinist Efrem Zimbalist. At the age of 15, he left San Francisco to study at the Curtis Institute of Music with the famed pedagogue Ivan Galamian.

In 2002, David Jacobson returned to San Francisco and founded the San Francisco Institute of Music and the SFIM Method of teaching, revealing lost, esoteric knowledge of the greatest performers of the past. Performing with Mr. Jacobson is Arman Hashemezideh, one of SFIM's first students, and already a remarkable and refined pianist. Tonight's program of Greig's Sonata in C Minor, Wieniawski's "Faust Fantasy," Prokofiev's Sonata in D Major, Liszt's "Mephisto Waltz," and Saraste's "Carmen Fantasy" expresses a subtle and attuned musical collaboration.
