La Traviata - Opera. Abridged version of Giuseppe Verdi's world famous opera La Traviata, adapted by the Italian stage director Giuseppe Cutino.

First performed at La Fenice in March 1853, the three-act opera by Guiseppe Verdi is inspired by The Lady of the Camellias, Alexandre Dumas' fils play. Verdi's Opera is the narration of the tragic love story between Violetta Valery, a famous Parisian courtesan of the 18th century, and Alfredo Germont, a higher middle-class young man.

In Violetta, a traviata the stage director Giuseppe Cutino puts the emphasis on Violetta's perception. As in Alexandre Dumas' play, the narration starts with Violetta, the young woman, who is dying of tuberculosis in the loneliness of her bedroom. She evokes images of her past and love for Alfredo. She remembers her encounter with Alfredo, their few months of happiness together in a country house outside Paris and of their separation after Giorgio Germont, Alfredo's father, implored her to end this scandalous affair for the sake of both Alfredo and his family.
