April 6-28, departs each Saturday at 5pm

This April, the Western Railway Museum invites visitors to join us on a relaxing journey back in time on the 'Vintage Comet' during the spectacular spring wildflower season.

The 'Vintage Comet' offers passengers a unique opportunity to experience two of Northern California's most treasured assets: electric-run passenger trains and local wine. The train honors the original 'Comet' train, which ran along the Sacramento Northern Railway during the early 20th century. Also paying tribute to wine connoisseurs' admiration for "comet vintage" wines, said to be of superior quality due to the effect of nearby cosmic activity on the Earth's soil and weather conditions, the 'Vintage Comet' offers its 21 and older passengers four fine local wines from members of the Suisun Valley Wine Co-Op (juice is available for younger passengers).

The museum is located just one hour from San Francisco, Sacramento, Stockton, and Sonoma on the California State Highway 12 in rural Solano County, midway between Interstate 80 in Fairfield and the Sacramento Delta town of Rio Vista.

Come aboard to learn more about the region's railway history, its local wines, with beautiful native wildflowers in bloom and visible from the rail line!

*Please arrive at least 15 minutes before departure and note that the train departs on time.

**A portion of the ticket price from Vintage Comet benefits the Solano Midnight Sun Foundation, which provides temporary financial assistance to women with breast cancer who need help paying basic living expenses during their treatments.
