Vincenzo Bellini's "I Puritani" November 19, 2010

After 10 years, Opera Circle returns to the masterpiece to celebrate its 15th anniversary season: I puritani by Vincenzo Bellini. The bel-canto style of highest order will blossom under the baton of Grigor Palikarov from National Opera Sofia, conducting Opera Circle Orchestra, the vocal lines rendered by a mix of best local and out-of-state singers.

Don't miss this story of passionate love between Lord Arturo Talbo and the Puritan daughter Elvira, thwarted by political and religious turmoil in England, then restored by Cromwell's victory. Two performances only: Friday, November 19 and Saturday, November 20, both at 8 p.m. at Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus (3649 East 65th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44105).
