Does the title refer to the joint work by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker with her sister Jolente – for example in 2004 in “Cassandra”? In any case Vincent Dunoyer works up a complex homage to Rosas’ dance language. In a multi-level process he appears to develop “sister choreographies”. He tried out this method in “Cadavre Exquis” (2005). Dunoyer made snapshots of himself in various poses and then asked P.A.R.T.S students to develop choreographic phrases to link up his poses. Then he dances that choreography.

In “Sister” the long-standing Rosas dancer Fumiyo Ikeda is the muse. Dunoyer compiles from her memory all the initial positions of all the choreographies she ever danced. Then Rosas dancers wove these poses into a new work. In this way a collective choreography is created for one person. However, in the end Keersmaeker herself becomes Ikeda’s sister. She comes on stage, dances and it is another, new, story. “Here she comes”, says Vincent Dunoyer.
