Village India and Experience Gujarat will be held in Leicester's prime venue, De Montfort Hall and Gardens 10th-13th September 2009. De Montfort Hall with its excellent auditorium and Gardens provides a fantastic setting for this truly unique event.

The venue has become famous for its well attended outdoor festivals like the Big Session and Summer Sundae Weekender and now Village India and Experience Gujarat are set to follow in their highly successful footsteps.

We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Richard Haswell and the excellent team at De Montfort Hall for all their help in getting Village India and Experience Gujarat established as one of the major inter-cultural events in the UK.

The Festival is Three Events in One:-

Village India is held in the De Montfort Hall Gardens.
Experience Gujarat is held in the main De Montfort auditorium.
Village India & Experience Gujarat Showcase
Village India presents aspects of the whole of Indian culture. It has fantastic entertainment on two stages. There is also beautiful Indian cuisine, arts and crafts and 20 artisans in regional costume within an environment of a Traditional Village.

On the two Village India stages, you will get to experience everything from Contemporary Bhangra and Bollywood to World Music Fusion acts, DJs and Traditional music and Dance. Think world music festival with a big Indian flavour and you will get a feel for it!

Experience Gujarat will be held in the main auditorium and focuses on the very best music and dance from the region with the most famous artists and a highly varied programme of specially produced concerts.

Experience Gujarat will stage Ten Fantastic Concerts throughout the weekend featuring the best artists that Gujarat has to offer. They will be performing:-Gujarati Dayro, Comedy, Childrens’ Entertainment, Bhajans, Stutis, Slokhas, Folk Songs, Theatre ,Traditional Storytelling, Duha Chand, Classic Film Songs, Wedding Songs & A Tribute To Avinash Vyas.

If you purchase any Experience Gujarat concert ticket this entitles the ticket holder to buy a heavily discounted entrance ticket for access to the whole of Village India on the same day!! So book early to get the limited number of De Montfort auditorium tickets and you will have almost double the benefit of your ticket price!!

Village India & Experience Gujarat Business Showcase
One of the unique aspects of the Village India & Experience Gujarat festival is the fantastic opportunity to enjoy a great cultural experience while also tapping into large numbers of people from the business community and general public too. This is why we are also hosting a special Trade fair and Business Showcase on Victoria park right next to the Village India main site at De Montfort Gardens.

The show will focus on high quality organisations and traders and there are great opportunities to develop marketing of services and products to the huge NRI population in Leicester and to people from all over the UK and the international community at the main festival event.

The Business showcase has free admission to the public and this together with the huge numbers attending the Village India site will ensure that there is a great attendance.
