Digital Alberta presents a 2 1/2 day workshop led by industry experts, at which you will learn how to create successful online video shorts and campaigns.

Short-form video is the frontier of digital media. Online advertising, citizen journalism, product branding, elearning, website help sections, social networking profiles, reputation management and much else are being transformed by video. Short form video is one of the fastest growing marketing tactics, with over 50% of marketers in 2009 using video on the internet and mobile platforms.

Without formal training in video production and distribution, you can now create video using handheld consumer devices and connect with targeted groups of people via social media and mobile applications.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

* Techniques and best practices for creating compelling short-form video campaigns and episodes.

* How to use social media services like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter to distribute video and reach target audiences.

SPEAKERS:

Frank Chindamo
Frank is the Founder and President of Fun Little Movies (FLM), a Hollywood-based producer of original live action comedy movies. Frank's work has been featured on HBO, Showtime, CBS, PBS, Playboy, Comedy Central, and MTV. FLM won 20 awards and honors including a finalist's place for Best Short at the Cannes Film Festival. He also teaches “Mobile and Internet Screenwriting and Production” at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.

Judith Keenan
Judith is the Founder and Executive Director of Bookshorts, a Toronto-based company that produces video marketing campaigns for the publishers and other media companies. Her production credits number more than 100 news features, 16 short films, an 8-episode national television series and much more.

Duncan Kennedy
Duncan is COO of Thwapr, the mobile-to-mobile video and photo sharing service. He is also the founder of MobiFest, a cell phone film festival which advances the craft of made-for-mobile film making. Formerly, Duncan served as product manager on the original team at Apple which developed QuickTime.
