Vickie's Angel Walk October 9, 2009

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – August 12, 2009 – The volunteers of Vickie’s Angel Walk are hosting the fundraising walk on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the New Cumberland Borough Park to support the Seventh Annual Walk. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. The walk commences at 10 a.m. Proceeds benefit families fighting cancer by funding basic necessity items such as rent/mortgage, food, fuel to heat the house, car repairs as well as co pays, insurance premiums and other expenses.

“Vickie’s Angel Walk supports a real need for money to assist pay for basic necessities to help families survive during their struggle with cancer,” said Mickey Minnich. “It is comforting for families to know that they can reach out for necessary financial assistance when facing such a devastating disease.” Many families respond with the statement, “Vickie’s Angel Walk has given me hope.”

To date, families have been helped with over $400,000 by the annual walks. We hope to raise more than $60,000 this year.

Vickie’s Angel Walk Inc is a 501 (c) 3 non profit with a mission of helping families fighting cancer who have difficulty paying their bills because of the cancer. Our goal is to take the financial worry away from the family so they all can focus on the cancer and not their finances. In many cases Vickie’s Angel Walk is a temporary bridge to get the family from despair as to how they are going to pay their bills to where they can focus on Love, Faith and Hope and curing their cancer.
