Veterans Remembrance Ceremony May 23, 2009

Kick off Memorial Day weekend at an inspirational ceremony onboard the USS Midway, then stay and tour the Midway Museum at no cost! It’s a great way to educate today’s youngsters about the contributions of the men and women who have served America in uniform.

• A moving wreath ceremony where youngsters chosen from the audience, active-duty personnel and veterans will present biodegradable wreaths over the side to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for America. Veterans from World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, Operation Desert Storm and the Global War on Terrorism will participate.

• The opportunity to meet, thank, and take photos with young men and women serving in uniform

• Entertainment by a youth choir group

• Opportunities for youngsters to color an American flag that will be displayed aboard the USS Midway Museum during Legacy Week (May 23-29)

• Presentation of colors by an award-winning high school ROTC program

• Free admission to the USS Midway Museum following the ceremony
