TRUE WHISPERS: The Story of the Navajo Code Talkers: 2:15 pm. Young Navajo men were recruited from government boarding schools to serve in the Marines during WWII. They devised an unbreakable code in their native language and transmitted vital messages to military forces in the Pacific. THE EXILES: 3:30 pm and runs 72 minutes. This restored film chronicles one night in the lives of young Indians relocated from the southwest to urban LA during the 1950's.
