Civic Centre, Glebe Street
Stoke on Trent, England ST4 1HH

Details:
The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress (Councillor Derek Capey and Mrs Joyce Capey) and Mayor of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council (Councillor John Cooper and Mrs Angela Cooper) would like to invite you to our Veterans Day celebrations on Sunday, 22 June 2008.
We recognise that Veterans are of all ages with a variety of different backgrounds, and they all deserve our recognition. This is our chance to recognise the achievements of those veterans who live in Staffordshire.

There will be a church service to start at 11.45am at Stoke Minster, Glebe Street, Stoke, where standards will be received and this will be conducted by the Lord Mayor's Chaplain and Rector of Stoke-upon-Trent, Reverend David Lingwood. Veterans are asked to assemble at Stoke Town Hall (Crush Hall) at 10.30am.

This service will last for approximately 45 minutes. We would ask anyone who is not a Veteran to meet at the Church and be seated not later than 11.35am.

Immediately after the service there will be a parade around Stoke led by the Black Watch Association Pipe Band. The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Stoke-on-Trent and Mayor of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough will then host a civic celebration and buffet lunch in the Kings Hall for any Veteran and a guest - to which tickets will be issued by applying. Note that tickets are limited. Entertainment will be provided by the City of Stoke-on-Trent Music and Performing Arts Service.

Uniforms, decorations [no commemorative medals please] and badges of office may be worn. Parking will be available on Kingsway Car Park, adjacent to the Town Hall (charges will be waived for the day). Please complete the Buffet Invitation form which you can download from our web site and return to Christopher Mitchell (01782 231922) by Monday 16 June 2008.
