Veterans Awareness Week - Weymouth June 15, 2008

The 2008 Veterans Awareness Week will be held from Saturday 14th until Friday 20th June 2008; Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the formation of the Territorial Army and Veterans Day. Also 2008 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Granting of the Freedom of the Borough to the Corps of Royal Engineers and the 80th Anniversary of the Corps first visit to Wyke Regis, Weymouth, At 11am on Sunday 15th June, a Service of Remembrance will take place at the Weymouth Cenotaph. This will be followed by the Royal Engineers Corps exercising their Freedom of the Borough in recognition of the 25th Anniversary; and a parade of all veterans along the Weymouth Seafront.
