The Opera Company of Brooklyn (OCB) is dedicated to making opera accessible and affordable throughout New York City to all generations. We bring opera alive by offering a diverse selection of opera favorites and overlooked rarities in our intimate Bring Your Own Beverage (B.Y.O.B.) Series?a way to experience opera not offered by any other opera company. By performing in smaller and less formal venues, we hope to break down the barriers surrounding opera as being exclusive, for the wealthy, and confined to Manhattan, and demonstrate that it is a unique art form that can be appreciated and enjoyed by all members of society. We are especially interested in embracing young audiences and inviting them to become inspired by this art form, and feel that, if we can succeed in attracting young people who normally would not attend the opera, we have achieved a substantial part of our mission.

OCB will be performing Rigoletto by Verdi on April 1st at 8PM at the Kumble Theatre at Long Island University, 1 University Plaza, Brooklyn, NY 11201 (at the intersection of Flatbush and DeKalb avenues). Rigoletto tells the story of a lusty Duke, a devoted father and his usually dutiful daughter who falls in love for the first time..unfortunately with aforementioned lusty Duke! The Kumble theatre seats 300, so do join us if you can for what promises to be an exhilarating evening! Tickets are $25 for the general public, and $15 for students with a valid ID.

Please contact OCB at [email protected], specifying the NUMBER and NAME(S) of those wishing to attend, the DATE(S) of the performance(s) you would like to attend and an EMAIL address where a confirmation may be sent. You will be notified via email with a confirmation of your reservation, along with where to send payment and the location of the performance(s) you will be attending.
