For Two Days, Venice Becomes an Art Museum!

Not literally, of course. But no event showcases Venice’s maverick arts community better than the Venice Art Walk & Auctions.

May 17-18, 2008

Join us for the 29th annual Venice Art Walk & Auctions – a celebration of art, architecture, music and fine cuisine benefiting Venice Family Clinic.

(While the Venice Art Walk does not not take place directly on Venice Beach/Ocean Front Walk, it is in the vicinity and local environs of Venice Beach.)

Catapult yourself into the Venice Art Walk season at the
Art Happening
Thursday, May 8
The studio of Laddie John Dill in Venice

$50 per person
An electrifying evening to catapult you into the Venice Art Walk season…featuring music spun by KCRW’s inimitable Tom Schnabel (Café LA), the unveiling of a special project by filmmaker Elizabeth Paige Smith, and a live painting performance by Venice Art Walk artist Jean Edelstein. This is also your chance to mingle with the Venice Art Walk artists!

Art & Architecture Tours
Saturday, May 17
Sponsored by Dwell

Note: Tickets for each tour sold separately. It is only possible to see one tour.

Newly Hatched Dwellings in Venice
$75 per person, self-driving
This year’s collection of local, modern homes are all newly or 90% completed, giving guests the chance to talk with architects and builders about their most recent work. The freshest homes include award-winning design, LEED pilot technologies, and prefab construction. Homes completed in 2007 provide guests a chance to experience comfortable, furnished and landscaped residences in their ‘lived-in’ state. Since all homes on this tour are located in Venice, we encourage bicycling, although street or lot parking will also be available.

Modern Homes & Art Collections of Malibu
$150 per person, includes docent-led coach transportation and lunch
This year’s art tour will venture along PCH via coach to five unique sites of beachside residences, canyon compounds and a very special preview of the Weisman Museum show at Pepperdine University, lead by the museum director.
