VCU JAZZ ORCHESTRA II IN CONCERT TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 24
The VCU Jazz Orchestra II, under the direction of Prof. Taylor Barnett, will perform Tuesday, November 24 at 8 p.m. in Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall at the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Avenue in Richmond. Tickets are only $5--FREE for all VCU students! Avoid the lines on concert night: call the VCU Music Box Office at (804) 828-6776, Monday through Friday, 2-4 p.m., to purchase your tickets via credit card.
The concert will include music by Bob Carlton, Sammy Nestico, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Charlie Christian, Benny Goodman, James Mundy, Quincy Jones, Sadao Watanabe, and plenty of Oliver Nelson (as the band will perform the better part of one of his albums this night).
