VCU Jazz at The Camel March 17, 2010

This month we will be featuring the Connor Thompson Group once again followed by 3rd District.

Connor Thompson: Connor is a VCU Jazz Studies guitar player preparing for his senior recital and graduation. He will be performing some original works along with your favorite standards.

3rd District: Ben Misterka-Guitar; Jonathan Gibson-Sax; Alex Powers-Trombone; Larri Branch-Keys; Kevin Johnson-Drums; Phil Gillium-Kuffee - bass.

These musicians come together to perform original compositions and arrangements as well as explore through collective improvisation. The compositions focus on strong melodies, proppelled by picturesque grooves, aiming at peaks and valleys of intensity. They assemble their varying influences to create a unified fusion.

The first set is at 9:00pm, followed by the 3rd District around 10:30.
