VCU Dance co-presents Leading Ladies March 28, 2013

In this infectious dance movie marrying the story of a LGBT self-disclosure and love affair, a family must hustle to maintain their status quo in the harsh arena of competitive ballroom dance when one sister plans her coming out and the other gets pregnant. The two sisters and their gay best friend must contend with an overzealous stage mom in this carefully crafted and aptly executed dance film that embraces old-fashioned dance standards and modern politics.
The comedy has been screened at more than sixty festivals around the world and is an official selection of the Cannes Independent, Outfest and Palm Springs International film festivals as well as a Showcase Award winner at the Sonoma international Film Festival.
