The producers of the popular weekly improv festival “Extended Play” bring you 100 years back in time to the roots of American comedy with “Vaudeville Vivat!” an improvised comedy review in the style of 1916 Vaudeville. Described as “Amazing,” “Dark,” “Fun,” and “Twisted.”, “Vaudeville Vivat!” tells the story of vaudeville through improv, giving a nod to our comedy forefathers from the early 20th century.

“Vaudeville Vivat!” takes the audience both backstage with cast interactions and on stage performance for a classic vaudeville romp. “Vaudeville Vivat!” will amaze and shock crowds through performance and visual spectacle using improvised scenes and sketches, complete with song and dance numbers as well as classic olio acts from vaudeville history. This show highlights the special talents of some of Chicago's finest comedic actors from The Second City Conservatory, iO Chicago, Comedy Sportz, Laugh Out Loud, and Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Clown College.

Saturday nights at 10pm at The Playground Theatre, these ghosts of vaudeville will cast a spell on the audience with a comedy review made up of mime, improvised theatre, sketch comedy, song, dance, and sideshow stunts.
