Moving Pictures Experimental Film & Video Art Series Premieres January 30th at Varnish Fine Art

Varnish Fine Art steps into the world of new media art with a monthly picture show of experimental films & video installation the last Wednesday of each month.

Series Premiere: Wednesday, January 30th, 7-9pm.

Varnish Fine Art will be presenting a monthly curated sequence of short film, experimental video and new media art from local artists in a series called Moving Pictures. With the assistance of San Francisco artist Rob Racine, the series will premier Wednesday January 30th at 7pm. Moving Pictures will screen the last Wednesday of each month from 7-9pm.

Rob Racine is a local multi-media artist with success in painting and video. He and Varnish Fine Art will be working side by side to create a platform for new-media artists in this monthly program. In keeping with Varnish Fine Art's reputation for engaging the most contemporary and cutting edge art, this series gives current new-media artists a rare opportunity for exposure in a gallery setting. Our mission is to enable these avant-gardes by providing a stage for expression and innovation.

The two-hour series is comprised of film shorts submitted by local contemporary artists. Film times will run between five and thirty minutes, with a brief intermission in between each. The artists will be in attendance to introduce their work and answer questions.

If you'd like to participate in future Moving Pictures presentations, please send your submissions to Varnish Fine Art for review, attention Danielle Schmitz.

Varnish is a 21+ only venue. No one under the age of 21 will be admitted. No babies or kids, either.
