Utkarsh Hindustani Vocal Recital June 20, 2008

Mani Prasad is an eminent exponent of Hindustani classical music. A representative of the Kirana gharana, he has several new ragas and compositions to his credit. Born into a family of musicians, his music training began at a young age under his father, Sukhdev Prasad, and grandfather, Shakti Lal, and later under his uncle, Shankar Lal, and Gopal Prasad. A top grade artiste of All India Radio, he has been featured in Radio Sangeet Sammelans and TV network programmes. A recipient of numerous awards including the Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, his concerts have won him great appreciation and critical acclaim across the country and abroad. Apart from being a performer and composer of music, Mani Prasad is also an accomplished teacher of the Hindustani classical vocal music. He has several CDs and cassettes to his credit.
