50 California St. 24th Floor
San Francisco, California 94111

Recology recently moved its headquarters to 50 California Street and completed a major renovation of an entire floor, achieving LEED Gold for their new office.

Recology was closely involved throughout the design & construction process and committed to achieving a high-level of LEED Certification to reflect its commitment to sustainability.

As part of the opening of their new space, Recology changed its name from NorCal Waste Systems to Recology. This name change was a very big deal, both for the company and its many partners, and is symbolic of the company’s mission to become the leader in sustainable waste management. The name change was announced to coincide with the opening of their new, beautiful LEED Gold space.

Throughout the project, Recology was very committed to finding innovative ways to divert as much construction waste as possible (over 90% diverted) while using recycled and refurbished materials.

As part of their waste diversion program, Recology implemented an artist-in-residence program where artists have access to create art pieces from trash that would have otherwise ended up in the landfill.
