Urban Development 'Unplugged Sessions' November 19, 2010

Sit back, relax and chill as Urban Development and Stratford Circus bring you an ensemble of influential artists in urban music alongside the brightest upcoming stars in the most intimate of settings.

UK funky supremo, Donae’o and guests get stripped back and unplugged at the latest offering of Unplugged Sessions as part of the London Jazz Festival in association with BBC Radio 3 taking place at Stratford Circus on Friday 19th November.

Donae’o, best known for his hits ‘Devil in a Blue Dress’ and ‘Party Hard’, can get any crowd moving but with such a diverse musical influence and versatile vocals he is not one to be limited, so expect the unexpected.

Also completing the stellar line-up will be sophisticated RnB songstress and two-time MOBO award winner, Kele Le Roc, whose top ten chart success in the nineties has made her a household name and a force to be reckoned with. Expect to hear old favourites alongside new material from her new ‘Been there Done That’ EP.

Eclectic foursome, Speakers Corner Quartet (SCQ) have been causing a stir on the live music circuit across venues such as Royal Festival Hall, The Roundhouse and Glastonbury with their jazz overtones and steadfast hip hop beats and come highly endorsed by Herbie Hancock. Urban Development offers the chance to witness these master instrumentalists at work for one night only.

Fresh on the London scene, the five-strong female beatbox phenomena, The Boxettes, which includes Bellatrix, Female Beatbox World Champion transcend multiple genres. Their soulful grooves, dirty beats and melodies will have you asking for more. Add to the mix Ed Sheeran, with his acoustic soul, grime infused rap and loop station wizardry
and you definitely have an unbeatable line up.
