Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn – Please join BIM designers for a day of cool and unusual craft projects June 29th 11-4 at Brooklyn Indie Market (www.brooklynindiemarket.com), corner of Smith and Union Street, just next to the Carroll Street station F train stop and Carroll Park.
FREE to enter, workshops $3 each
Brooklyn Indie Market, a weekend market of emerging fashion and product designers, has put together a variety of novel and surprising kids crafts workshops. You won’t find old school glued popsicle-sticks, tiled ashtrays and gimp bracelets of yore (not that we do not hold these rec center relics dear to our hearts-we do!)
But times have changed and so has the concept of “craft” – we can’t wait to share our skills and love of craft with the next generation!
Our Workshop lineup includes:
• Replaygrounds’ Bottle Conversion Project, turning old soda bottles into candy dishes, soap dishes, vases, photo cuffs and more www.replayground.com
• Beacon Bookmarks, wife and husband team using discarded wood from their cabinetry business to customize your own wooden bookmarks using a variety of rubber stamps and markers www.beaconbookmarks.com
• Wonderthreads’ and fofolle, Stuffed Monster Making Workshop, an upcycle project utilizing left over fabric and scraps from their design businesses www.wonderthreads.com and www.fofolle.com
(Designer wares will also be available to purchase)

For more info on Brooklyn Indie Market please visit www.brooklynindiemarket.com or call 347-407-1187, take the F/G train to the Carroll Station stop.
