University Lecture Series: John Zerzan, "The Crisis of Civilization: Where do we go from here?"
April 11th, 7pm, USF Special Events Center
Co-sponsored by the Alliance of Concerned Students

Renowned author and social scientist John Zerzan has been a pioneer in the area of anarcho-primitivism, which proposes that we should use prehistoric societies as models of how a free society should be constructed. Zerzan?s work critiques the fundamental structure of ?civilization? and challenges our concepts of the economy, government, language, and symbolic thought. His experience as a student and activist during the 1960s and 1970s convinced him that the hunter-gatherer form of society presented the most egalitarian model for human interactions and the relationship with the natural world.

Zerzan is the author of Elements of Refusal, Future Primitive, Against Civilization: A Reader, and Running on Emptiness. He currently serves as an editor of the quarterly magazine Green Anarchy and is the host of Anarchy Radio in Eugene, Oregon. He has also been a contributor to Anarchy Magazine and Adbusters.
