United HomeCare’s Caregiver Resource Center Offers Free Weekly Classes and Monthly Events for Caregivers and Seniors

United HomeCare invites non-professional caregivers for frail elderly and/or disabled adults and seniors to visit the Caregiver Resource Center and partake in support groups, workshops, forums and lectures offered each month to build caregiving skills and engage caregivers in conversations about care planning, legal and financial issues, and management of chronic diseases.

Wellness & Education Activities
• Gentle Yoga – Unwinding with gentle yoga to renew your energy and help you manage caregiving responsibilities.
Tuesdays (April 5, 12, 19 and 26) from 5:00 - 6:00 pm
Thursdays (April 7, 14, 21, and 18) from 10:00 - 11:00 am

• Computer and Internet Class for Beginners
Mondays, (April 4, 11, 18 and 25) from 10 am - 12 pm

• SHINE Medicare Counseling – If you are going to turn 65 years old, SHINE counselors can answer billing questions about Medicare or Medicaid. Make appointment. Call 305-716-0710.
Wednesdays, (April 6, 13, 20 and 27) between 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

• Prepare Advance Directives
Learn about Advance Directives and receive a complimentary FIVE WISHES booklet designed to help you record your wishes for medical care should you ever become incapacitated and are unable to make medical decisions for yourself.
Mondays, (April 4, 11, 18 and 25) anytime between 10 am - 4:00 pm

• Caregiver Movie Hour: watch and discuss a humorous movie over delicious popcorn
Friday, April 8 and 29, 10:00 - 11:30 am

• Your Time To Care: Preventing Falls
An educational video presentation teaching practical steps to reduce fear and risks of falls.
Tuesday, April 5, 10:30 - 11:30 am

• Caregiver Wellness: Helping Caregivers Transform Stress and Maintain Wellness
An educational video presentation providing tools and information about resources for caregiver wellness.
Tuesday, April 12, 10:30 - 11:30 am

• Legal and Financial Issues for Long Term Care Planning
