Unified Liberal Religious Voice for Central Ohio May 16, 2005

In the past year, Ohio has seen conservative interpretations of the Christian faith dominate the public's reaction to gay, lesbian, bi and transgender (GLBT) people. Often, conservative Christian voices are the only religious voices heard by Ohioans on civic and political matters. Let's change that.

Many congregations (Christians, Jewish, Unitarian) are being invited to participate in a Town Hall Meeting on Monday, May 16, 7-9 p.m. at the King Avenue United Methodist Church, 299 King Avenue, Columbus.
* Hear from several of Central Ohio's local religious leaders about their individual efforts to advocate for civil equality and cry out against discrimination.
* Begin to get to know each other and discover ways we can work together to become Central Ohio's liberal religious voice on GLBT issues.
* Start outlining a plan for Central Ohio's role in a statewide coalition amplifying the voices of groups like yours as you speak out on GLBT rights.
